The history of Can Elisa
A magical place, a fantastic house and a great location that we would like to share with you.
Can Elisa was a 150-year-old ruin, only a thirty meter long stone wall remained. The building used to function as ‘riu rau’, a Spanish barn in which grapes were dried to raisins. The open, rural architecture of a riu rau allowed the grapes to dry in the sun and at the same time they were protected against rain and wind. The Spanish barn was in direct connection with the farmers’ house.

Construction
In September of the year 2014, Linda and Jasper bought the house and started the completion. Can Elisa was delivered casco: the house was there, but the interior walls were still missing. Together with an architect, plans were made for the best layout and optimal use of the spaces. P>
The doors of Can Elisa were opened in the spring of 2016. We, Linda and Jasper welcome all guests with open arms and share our dream and this great location with you. P>
The ruins was renovated from 2005 to 2009 with a lot of love and attention to detail. The original natural stone back wall that has been retained now largely determines the atmosphere in the house and the two apartments. The remaining walls are made of natural stone and each stone is carved to size by hand. P>

Our garden
Can Elisa lies on a piece of land of five thousand square meters. The area used to be full of grape vines for raisin production. Nowadays there are almond and olive trees, some of which are more than one hundred years old. These trees offer wonderful shade spots, where you can enjoy the peace and the view undisturbed. You can dream away with a glass of wine and enjoy the day while the sun goes down. In the distance you can see the first lights appearing in the valley, where Calossa d’en Sarria and Benidorm are located. P>
The location of the apartments on the Costa Blanca is unique: from the terrace you have a beautiful, uninterrupted view of the mountain range Sierra de Bernia. If you walk a little further on our plot, you look out at the sea and the city of Benidorm. The nearest village, Tàrbena, is a five minute drive away. P>
